Jimi Tenor (FIN)

Jimi Tenor is a Finnish artist with a long and varied backround in the experimental electronic field. He started his career in 1986 with the group Jimi Tenor & His Shamans, releasing four albums between 1988 and 1992. His work therafter has been mainly as a solo artist, but with numerous collaborations and guest acts. His various projects are among others Jimi Tenor & Kabu Kabu, Flat Earth Society and Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators.

Tenor´s music is a playful form of electronic synth, upon which he also sings and plays the saxophone. It is hard to categorize or attach to a specific genre. Many of the instruments he use are home-made, fashioned out of plastics or scrap metal. This DIY-tradition is strong in the Finnish environment he hails from, even though most of his career has been made in larger European cities such as London, Berlin and Barcelona. His solo albums have been released on Warp Music, the electronic mainstay behind Aphex Twin.

Tenor has also created the electronic music documentary "Sakhö" ("electric"), which will also be shown at the festival.
