Ekko is an annual festival for electronic and experimental music and sound art. The festival features a tightly curated international and local programme with concerts, dj-sets, commission works, art, talks, screenings and multidisciplinary acts.

In 2019 the 16th edition of the festival, “EKKO no. 16” takes place from 23rd to 26th October at the main venue Østre and other various venues across the city of Bergen, Norway. Venues include Østre, Bergen Cathedral, and more TBA. Artists having previously performed at Ekko: Nils Frahm, Jon Hopkins, James Holden, Holly Herndon, Planningtorock, Pantha Du Prince & The Bell Laboratory, Laurel Halo, Hieroglyphic Being, Legowelt, Bjarki, Deena Abdelwahed, Marie Davidson, Steffi, Perel, Ilpo Väisänen, Nene H, Andrew Weatherall, DJ Harvey, Todd Terje (commission piece), rRoxymore, Mykki Blanco, Suzanne Ciani, Matias Aguayo, El Perro Del Mar, Optimo DJs, C.A.R., Jenny Hval, Molly Nilsson, Ata Kak, Aïsha Devi, Stiletti-Ana and many more. The organization behind Ekko Festival, Foreningen Ekko, is a non-profit organization with a small administration dedicated to foster the local electronic and experimental music and arts scene in Bergen. Foreningen Ekko’s main activity is the annual Ekko Festival. Besides the festival Foreningen Ekkos present a year round concert and club series at their main venue Østre, as well as program and co-produce the programme all year round.
