Møster! is the main project of Norwegian saxophone player Kjetil Møster. As one of Norway’s busiest session musicians, Møster has played with the likes of Röyksopp & Robyn, DATAROCK and Serena Maneesh, in addition to dozens of other jazz, rock, impro and pop projects. He has also shared stage with jazz greats such as Chick Corea and Pat Metheny, and in 2006 he received the International Jazz Award For New Talent in New York City.
A few years ago, Møster figured it was about time to lead his own band, so he cherry-picked some of Norway’s finest musicians - Hans Magnus «Snah» Ryan (Motorpsycho) on guitar, Kenneth Kapstad (Motorpsycho, Monolithic) on drums, and Nikolai Hængsle Eilertsen (Elephant9, Band of Gold) on bass, and together the quartet has released three critically acclaimed albums. Last year’s «When You Cut Into The Present» was nominated for the Norwegian Grammys in the jazz category, however one could claim that Møster! operates within many genres (psych, spacerock, impro), with jazz being only one of them.
